Please note that e-mails sent to the EPO have no legal validity in proceedings under either the EPC or PCT. They therefore cannot be validly used for the purpose of performing procedural steps in proceedings before the EPO, including in particular steps required to comply with time limits within such proceedings. The only exception to that is set out in the Decision of the President dated 20 April 2012 concerning the filing of documents by e-mail during interviews and oral proceedings held as a video-conference.
If you have any urgent queries or communications relating to proceedings before the EPO, please send them by fax to the EPO's central fax number in Munich (+49 89 2399-4465), indicating the application number and the stage reached in the proceedings as well as the reasons why you require an urgent response from the EPO (Notice dated 12 September 2000 concerning correspondence with the Office via e-mail, Official Journal EPO 2000, 458).
