What is "PATLIB"?
Patent information centres are often referred to as "PATLIB centres", standing for PATent LIBrary. This comes from the days when patent documents were only available in print, mainly from public libraries.
Today, there are more than 300 patent information centres spread regionally in Europe and they operate mainly from universities, libraries, chambers of commerce, and technology and research centres. Many of them play an active role in technology transfer.
Our PATLIB network is available to advise and support you with services ranging from a simple patent search to the development of an IP strategy. PATLIB centres have a regional role and are familiar with your local industrial, economic and business landscape. They provide valuable services to entrepreneurs, SMEs, private inventors and students alike.
