Blockchain technology is being applied to an ever increasing variety of technical fields.
Many of the resulting inventions are patentable – but do people know that? How do you draft a patent application in this area and should you consider other forms of IP protection too? What implications will blockchain patents have on society in the future?
These are just some of the topics the European Patent Office will be addressing at the one day conference “Patenting blockchain”, bringing together stakeholders from business, academia, the judiciary, policymaking and patent offices for a series of lectures and panel discussions.
Who should attend?
Are you involved in patents and blockchain developments? Then this is the event to attend!
Why should you attend?
This conference will explore the IP protection and in particular the patenting of blockchain technology and of its applications in different technical fields. It will also develop your knowledge of blockchain-related examination practice at the European Patent Office within the context of its well-established practices for patenting software / computer-implemented inventions. Above all, it is the opportunity to meet and discuss with a wide array of patent specialists and blockchain professionals about a technology that is not without controversy.
