Partners in patents for 30 years
EPO-SIPO symposium: Users' opportunities in the evolving global patent system
Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie
de région Rhône-Alpes (CCIR)
32, Quai Perrache, Lyon, France
This year, the European Patent Office (EPO) and China's State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their bilateral co‑operation. To mark this occasion, an international symposium was organised in Lyon (FR), in partnership with the CCIR (chamber of commerce and industry for the Rhône-Alpes region).
Lyon, with its long tradition in the printing and silk industries, has played a pioneering role in disseminating Chinese culture in Europe since the Renaissance. To this day, China remains an important economic partner of France's second city.
High-level Chinese IP representatives and European experts from industry and the patent world met to share their experiences and discuss how patents can be used as strategic business tools in Chinese and European markets. The one-day symposium reviewed the progress made in IP generally and patents in particular.
